We Women

My favorite place in this church is our church school class for women only. A group of us found ourselves at church without our husbands more often than not and decided to turn that into a positive experience.
We are a Women's Bible Class but we talk about most any and everything. A teacher got us started but now we rotate leadership and have such energy for discussion that it doesn't take much to lead. We find ourselves talking about issues that we probably wouldn't get to in a mixed gender class - issues about setting goals, about letting go of baggage as God's forgiveness is claimed, about our intimate lives, about things that cause us to cry and laugh and care for each other as the Spirit leads us. One will tell part of her story and that opens the door for others who might have been reluctant and away we go. Yes, the Spirit leads us.
We are not all seriousness! We had a party at Christmas and no men allowed (except one who we let come to help take care of a very new baby!) It's good. If I had to choose among the many good things in this church and could only pick one - I would have to pick this class.
